Curriculum Highlights

The EMBA Program embodies the school’s more than 25 years of experience running MBA programs and also reflects the results of an ongoing search for program innovation in executive education.

As a part-time program, the Executive MBA aims to offer participants the possibility of satisfying their needs for professional development without leaving their jobs.

MIB uses a mixture of learning, leadership development, and networking in its program design and administration. The MIB EMBA seeks to prepare students for leadership and transformational roles in business by enhancing and further developing their experience in business and management, as well as their strategic thinking, innovation, and entrepreneurial skills.

The program offers exposure to global business issues and allows students to apply past and newly acquired knowledge and experience to complex business issues. It underlines the importance of responsible risk management and sustainable value creation on the basis of the environmental, social, and governance impacts of business. At the same time EMBA also is designed to promote interpersonal and group-working skills, encouraging lifelong learning and leadership development.

Leadership Development

The program organizes activities into three integrated perspectives – individual, working group, and the class – and uses three training approaches – teaching activities, project work, and individual coaching with a focus on the development of soft and transferable management skills.

To recognize the potential for the development of individual skills and any difficulties at an early stage, the Leadership Development course includes diagnostic questionnaires, targeted at examining the personal decision style of participants and their team-working attitudes. The program uses this information to build the learning teams, with the aim of obtaining a maximum balance of skills and attitudes.

The only course that runs throughout the whole EMBA Program, Leadership Development helps students develop personal awareness and improve personal and team effectiveness. The first step in achieving these goals involves supporting participants in discovering what is blocking them from achieving their full potential and aligning their behaviors with their objectives. Projects, lectures, and individual counseling help in generating this awareness.
